Students become familiar with the hazards associated with working at heights, learn safe practices, and learn how to perform a rescue from a height. They participate several work/rescue from height scenarios. This class is for first responders who could potentially respond to grain facility and/or confined space emergencies or commercial agricultural employees who work around flowing grain and confined spaces. Students become qualified to make bin entry, be a bin entry attendant, and be part of a confined space rescue team. They participate in a live grain engulfment/rescue, bin entry, and the non-entry rescue of an incapacitated worker from a confined space. Students become familiar with the hazards associated with confined spaces and flowing grain. This class is for first responders who could potentially render aid to a person trapped in a grain engulfment, or anyone 8 to 80 years old who work around flowing grain.Ĩ Hour – Confined Space Awareness & Operations Students become familiar with the hazards of flowing grain and participate in a live grain engulfment / rescue scenario.
A strong emphasis is placed on the prevention of secondary grain entrapment of rescuers when responding to grain entrapment emergencies.
