
Students become familiar with the hazards associated with working at heights, learn safe practices, and learn how to perform a rescue from a height. They participate several work/rescue from height scenarios. This class is for first responders who could potentially respond to grain facility and/or confined space emergencies or commercial agricultural employees who work around flowing grain and confined spaces. Students become qualified to make bin entry, be a bin entry attendant, and be part of a confined space rescue team. They participate in a live grain engulfment/rescue, bin entry, and the non-entry rescue of an incapacitated worker from a confined space. Students become familiar with the hazards associated with confined spaces and flowing grain. They participate in confined space entry/exit scenarios with varying technical complexities. Students become familiar with safe practices and the hazards associated with confined spaces.

This class is for first responders who could potentially render aid to a person trapped in a grain engulfment, or anyone 8 to 80 years old who work around flowing grain.Ĩ Hour – Confined Space Awareness & Operations Students become familiar with the hazards of flowing grain and participate in a live grain engulfment / rescue scenario.

A strong emphasis is placed on the prevention of secondary grain entrapment of rescuers when responding to grain entrapment emergencies.
